About TK Music

Tom "TK" Krzystof was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Exposed to a wide range of musical styles and instruments from an early age, he found his true passion at 13 when he picked up the guitar. Rather than following the typical “riff of the day” path, TK dove deep into music theory, building a strong foundation that would shape his unique voice on the instrument.

Drawn to the complexity and emotion of progressive rock and fusion, TK was inspired by legendary guitarists like Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, and Allan Holdsworth. A chance meeting with Larry Carlton proved to be a pivotal moment—leading TK to refine his approach, placing greater emphasis on melody and phrasing.

Rooted in Chicago’s rich musical landscape, he was also deeply influenced by the city’s vibrant blues and rock scenes. Over the years, TK developed his craft through diverse experiences: performing in musicals, session work, and countless live shows. He’s played with many groups, most notably Silent Partners, Chaser, Daybreak, and currently, The Naughty Cats.

TK's journey and influences are unmistakable in his playing—a blend of precision, soul, and a deep respect for the music.
